The new reading(legacy of silence) actually shows me the answer why Asian Americans still wanted to stay in America since they were treated unfair. In my point of view, I always consider those unfiar treatments as a outsider but not an American. But I am different than the Asian Americans, they were born in this country, and this is their homeland.
The Janpanese American were treated as the outsider in 1942, the Japanese internment camps. Over 110,000 Janpanese were forced to live in the camps and most of them were American citizens. It was a traumatic event. Though President Ronald Reagan signed into law the Civil Liberties Act, which apologized for the internment, in 1988, the internment still impacted the Janpanese Americans' life in America.

As you all know, I am a complete nerd and is obsessed with superhero stuff, so I'm very glad that we got to talk about Wonder Woman in class the other day. As a feminist I think she is a great role model for girls, because she is literally the best female superhero of all times. She stands for the spirit of freedom and feminism. Therefore, I'd like to share some recent news I've heard about her. The comic character has just been chosen to be the honorary Ambassador for the Empowerment of Women and Girls, represented by the two actresses who have portrayed her - Gal Gadot and Linda Carter. This is a pretty big deal because not too many comic characters can become a UN ambassador. I think this is great because I think this is very encouraging to women and girls; it is telling people that the female identity will not stop one from becoming as great as men. Also, DC comics has recently confirmed that Wonder Woman is bisexual. I figured that out a while ago, because she was born and raised on an island where no men exists, but it just took so long for DC to actually admit it. For all those years people thought she left her homeland for a man, but she did not. She only chose to save mankind just like Superman. The Wonder Woman movie is going to come out later next year as the first female superhero solo movie, which beats Marve Studiol's Captain Marvel solo movie. I like Marvel, but I just don't think they're doing as well as DC when portraying female characters - I absolutely hated it when Captain America called the Scarlett Witch "a child" in the Civil War movie, because she was one of the most powerful characters in the entire Marvel universe. But if you have seen the Justice League movie poster, you will see that Wonder Woman is standing in the center between all the other guys, including Batman and Superman. It shows that DC is taking this character more seriously than before, and they should totally keep doing it. I hope you guys will like her if you have not heard much about her. Here's the link to the Wonder Woman movie trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lGoQhFb4NM . Please feel free to share.

Sorry for replying late,i didn't check my email on time. I can't wait, so i see the trailer on youtube yesterday, it was awesome. I like this actress since Fast and Furious film. She left me a deep impression in that film, i still remember she wearing bikini walking on the beach. I also saw the part that Julie told us. This version of wonder woman break the image of the old one in my mind. Because the old one shows a figure of wishing to save the world and waiting to sacrifice herself for others. But this version show more an individual person rather than a role of superhero. So i am quite looking forward to this film.

well, even i forgot about this completely . so stevie today we met up to discuss the thesis and we came up with some really great ideas. we were thinking about having a quiz during our presentation with candies . I think it would be fun. we also realized that we can focus on the Japanese internment camps. we looked up for few video clips for the presentation and we found something which could work . we also researched for images and got lucky with a few of them. can't wait to update you tomorrow in class ! my weekend was really great, as it was diwali (indian festival) where we burst crackers and ate a lot of indian sweets. Its known to be a festival of lights where one decorates their entire house with lights and flowers. so this year i celebrated diwali and halloween . it was a different experience.
